North End Religious Feast June 2019

I went to Boston North End and I found a unique community culture in this small Italian-American town. When I documented North End this June, I encountered a religious procession held by St. Anthony’s church. I luckily photography a band consisted of Italian-Americans, many devotees, and famous Bishops.

The whole procession started at Hanover Statue where lots of soldiers’ nametags hang over on a fence. Band players wore blue uniforms and black ties. They performed beautiful symphony. The wood carved statue Saint Anthony was held by four devotees. Then, they will walk through the streets and devotees in the buildings will throw the money off the window and the band will play the music for them.

Boston Police also helped a lot to secure this procession. Two police motor-cyclers rode in the front to protect the people.
